SAFEHR Bursary

The SAFEHR team delivers data that exists in our catalogue to researchers at a standard flat rate of £10,000 (bespoke pricing is also available for more complex or non-standard data requests). However, eligible individuals conducting scientifically significant research are invited to apply for the SAFEHR bursary programme to waive the cost of the data extraction and delivery.
The Data Access Process for Research (DAP-R) is a Health Research Authority-devolved internal UCLH approvals process, providing a streamlined approvals process for in-house research studies that fulfil certain criteria. The governance approvals provided by DAP-R are done at no cost.
Eligibility Criteria:
Early Career Researchers (ECRs): defined as within 7 years or less of receiving PhD or equivalent qualification
Or
A current PhD student
Or
Active clinical practitioner or equivalent for NMAHPPs (Nurses, Midwives, Allied Health Professionals, Healthcare Scientists, Pharmacy Staff and Psychologists) Staff
And
Have not received a major research grant as the lead investigator
Application Process:
To apply, please complete the provided application form and attach a concise 2-page CV. You may also include a letter of support from a supervisor, line manager, or departmental head confirming the value of your research and your status as an ECR or clinical practitioner/NMAHPP.
Submission and Timeline:
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applications will be accepted based on scientific quality and rigor, potential impact and innovation, patient and public benefit, and evidence of ECR merit. Applications are reviewed by the SAFEHR team and ratified by the Oversight Committee.
