Attend Our OMOP-CDM Training Workshop!

23rd and 25th February 2026 at UCL Bloomsbury Campus

OMOP-CDM Workshop

OMOP-CDM (Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership-Common Data Model) is rapidly becoming the global standard for exchanging and analysing Electronic Healthcare Records (EHR).

What you’ll learn

In this hands-on course, you'll discover how OMOP leverages standardized concepts from established ontologies such as SNOMED and ICD-10 to create consistent, interoperable healthcare data. You'll gain practical skills to:

·    Understand the OMOP-CDM data structure and philosophy

·    Interpret standardized clinical concepts and vocabularies

·    Work confidently with real-world healthcare data

When you request data from SAFEHR, you'll receive it as parquet files in OMOP format. This course equips you to handle that data immediately. Using RStudio and accessible R programming techniques, you'll learn to:

·    Load and explore OMOP parquet files

·    Query and analyze clinical data efficiently

·    Transform healthcare records into actionable insights

What you need to know

·    No advanced programming experience required – just curiosity and a willingness to learn.

*Note that you must have working version of R installed on your computer; you will not receive help on the day to setup/install.

·    Date: Monday 23rd and Wednesday 25th February (two day course. Attendees must come to both days)

·    Time: 9am - 4pm (both days)

·    Location: In person on UCL Bloomsbury Campus
