SAFEHR provided data for Winning Presentation at International Conference on Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy

We’re excited to announce that the research by Dr Zara Arain and supervised by Dr Tina Chowdhury has been recognised as the best presentation at the 29th International Conference on Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy! Their research uses data provided by the SAFEHR team.

It’s been a fantastic experience working closely with the SAFEHR team to develop frameworks which ensure that we work with the best quality data for the research.

The 29th International Conference on Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy, held in Cape Town, South Africa took place from 30 October to 2 November 2025. Dr Zara Arain, an obstetrician and PhD Fellow in digital healthcare, presented a clinical study using machine learning to predict preterm birth. Dr Arain’s talk earned the “Best Presentation” award.

This work is being done with data that has been provided by the SAEFHR team, just another example of the work we are doing alongside clinical teams to answer research questions.

This project is lead by Dr Tina Chowdhury, and is supported by Professor Anna David, Director at the Institute for Women’s Health at UCL. You can see more about their project on our website here.
