PIXL Anonymisation Process
The PIXL pipeline is the process by which the SAFEHR team anonymises clinical images held by UCLH.
This policy currently covers:
x-rays,
MRI,
and CT scans
The PIXL pipeline adheres to the overarching Anonymisation Policy.
Clinical images are retrieved, stored, processed, and displayed using the DICOM standard.
In addition to the actual clinical image, the DICOM header stores meta-data in fields that are known as “tags”. These tags can contain a large amount of information and it is these tags which are subject to the anonymisation process.
